Frankenstein The True Story on youtube

Michael Sarrazin
The Monster in Frankenstein The True Story
I realize that I am writing a lot about this movie. However, what I've written about the movie probably only hints at what an incredible piece of work Frankenstein The True Story is.

I just learned that Frankenstein The True Story was a Hammer Horror production. We've just written about Hammer Horror producing Beyond the Rave with Jamie Dornan and that Hammer Horror is producing (or co producing) the American/English Language version of the Swedish vampire movie Let The Right One In (directed by Matt Reeves).

Frankenstein: The True Story is a 1973 British made-for-television horror film based on the book Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. It was directed by Jack Smight, and the screenplay was co-written by novelist Christopher Isherwood.
The film starred Leonard Whiting as Victor Frankenstein, Jane Seymour as Prima, David McCallum as Henry Clerval, James Mason as Dr Polidori and Michael Sarrazin as the Creature ...

A notable feature of the production is that, instead of being ugly from the start, the Creature is portrayed as physically beautiful but increasingly hideous as the film progresses. The make-up was by Hammer horror veteran artist Roy Ashton.

I TRIED to digitize the scene in the movie where The Frankenstein Monster / Michael Sarazzin first appears but, my VCR is not cooperating.

I just now found out that someone uploaded four clips from the movie to youtube.

I haven't watched all of the clips yet. But, since the "youtube user" who uploaded the clips seems to be a fan of The Man From Uncle stars Robert Vaughn and David McCallum, I'm going to guess that the clips probably have a lot to do with David McCallum's part in "Frankenstein The True Story".

David McCallum (who is currently the Coroner on NCIS) plays Dr. Henry Clerval, the doctor from whom Dr. Frankenstein learns how to "re-animate" dead things.

In the clip below, Dr. Frankenstein first meets Dr. Clerval. Dr. Clerval talks about "power over death", i.e., bringing dead things back to life. In the clip, the two doctors amputate a man's arm. Later in the movie, it is shown that Dr. Clerval "collected" the severed arm because he wanted to experiment on bringing the arm "back to life". Dr. Clerval does in fact "re-animate" the severed arm.

The Gays Don't Do Subtle

It is really amazing how The Gays (gay writers and self-appointed spokespersons for the gay community) only notice overblown cartoon-like shit like Brokeback Mountain or Crap like Will & Grace and Brothers and Sisters. The Gays simply don't do Subtle.

I would say that the two gayest things I've seen on tv were:

1. Frankenstein The True Story; and
2. The Highlander Series

Apparently the two works above weren't cartoonish enough for The Gays to notice.
