New York Times talks up designer Thome Browne

Whenever I read anything in the New York Times about a new trend, I remind myself that The New York Times put the Gawker Media Shitpire in its Sunday Business Section.

Seriously, it is pretty much established by now that The New York Times is 5 years behind any trend. I can't remember where I read that, but I think anyone can see that by the time The New York Times decides to report something to The White Trash, Blacks and Gays have usually already been doing THAT for at least 5 years.

So, with this, you have to take The New York Time's claims that Investment Bankers are now dressing like Pee Wee Herman with a grain of salt.

He [designer Thome Browne] has yet to have a proper runway show. He is not a fixture on the party circuit. He does not give clothes to celebrities. And his basic suits, which average about $3,500, are so expensive that, even on sale and with a friendly insider discount, the young trendies who talk up and flaunt new designer labels are completely unable to play along ... Worst of all, he wears his pants profanely short, revealing not only ankle — he does not wear socks — but a good three inches of shin http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/19/fashion/19THOM.html
