Posh Nosh is just too funny for words
I just finished watching the tail-end of Posh Nosh the "Spanish Toad in the Hole" episode.
Apparently, what I am seeing now on PBS are actually re-runs from the original broadcast of the BBC series some years ago.
Watching the first three or four episodes of Posh Nosh, I got the impression that The Wife of the tight-ass closet case English Guy, Simon, was a dim wit who was too full of herself and too interested in playing the upper class English Lady to realize that her husband was gay. However, this Episode #5 of Posh Nosh changes all of that.

As indicated above, it appeared to me that THE WIFE was too dumb to know that Simon was gay. However, in this Episode of Posh Nosh, we see that the Wife not only KNOWS that Simon is gay but, she is actually setting the guy up with gay lovers.
In Spanish Toad in the Hole, Simon is all dark and gloomy because his Spanish Tennis Instructor has died. Simon Says he will never play tennis again out of respect for his dead friend (boyfriend). At one point in the episode, THE WIFE smells a plate of Spotted Dick and tells Simon that after he gets a taste of it he might be interested in playing tennis again. Simon says: "No Way".
Well, after the cooking part of the show, THE WIFE and Simon go into the dining area and we see The Guest the Wife has invited for dinner. The Guest is a Young English Guy who is clearly Gay. There is a shot of Simon and the Guy staring into each others' eyes as if they can't wait to have at each other, and The Wife is a step or two back between them smiling approvingly.
I think THE WIFE's repeated references to death, Spanish and holes in this episode is her way of telling us that she thought Simon's dead Spanish Tennis Instructor was A Toad, a la, A Spanish Toad in the Hole.
